Simple Love

I'm gonna tell you a story about a boy and his world
Crashed into each other andmade a hole in the Earth
Where he built an apartment and fancied the walls
Made strings into stories to cover the holes
He don't know why he feels so numb
Still he throws himself into the only thing he knows
He believes in a simple kind of love
Give your best to keep it fair because so much of life is not
Who knows where it goes
They're just glad they're along for the ride
Second part of the story, where the boy meets the girl
Takes her back to the apartment and the weight of the world
Crashes in through the hallways, breaks down all their walls
But they know it'll be ok, they'll get through it all
They don't know where they'll sleep tonight
Still they glow from the light they built inside
They believe in a simple kind of love
Give your best to keep it fair because so much of life is not
Who knows where it goes
They're just glad they're along for the ride
Do you believe in a simple kind of love?
Give your best to keep it fair because so much of life is not
Who knows where it goes
They're just glad they're along for the ride

Darlin'

I tried to warn you 'bout
this beat up, blackened busted heart
I mapped my bruises out for you
and I took it all in stride
although i never clarified
i got bruised just like you
we rely on worn down arms
to hold the other through the night
If you say you're done, I won't try
If you think you're better off, I'll comply
You won't catch me cryin' this time
Cuz if you think you're better off then darlin' so am I
not that I think there will be
someone better made for me
because I know if there was a mold
It would be me, But what you're asking isn't fair
to bear more than my share
if you can't let go and let me in
then what you can and what I you can't has left us here
If you say you're done, I won't try
If you think you're better off, I'll comply
You won't catch me cryin this time
Cuz if you think you're better off then darlin' so am I
Here we are our worn down arms holding tight
to a love that isn't wrong but isn't right
Here we are our worn out hearts holding tight
to a love that isn't wrong but it isn't right
If you say you're done then darlin' so am I
yeah darlin' so am I
darlin' so am I

Drink, Drank, DrUNk

I should be hurtin' real bad, I should be on the edge
I should be cursin' their name but here I am instead
Grinnin' like I won
Cuz I drank all my blues away
I probably had it coming, I'm sure I brought it on
Cuz that's just how do it, it's how I get on
I should be cursin' myself but instead I bought a gun
That gun's name is whiskey and I fired it off at one
They say you can't drown your problems, son
I beg to differ, I've done it more than once
I'm sure I'll feel it all tomorrow but just for today
I'm not thinkin 'bout tomorrow or hell to pay
I'm just sippin on this sunshine packaged in a can
Today I drank my blues away
They say you can't drown your problems, son
I beg to differ, I've done it more than once
I drank all my blues away
I drank all my blues away
I drank all my blues away
